Vision Quality Control Built for Medical Braiding
Our MB braiding machines can now be equipped with an online vision inspection system powered by Braid Guard — an edge-deployed AI quality control solution developed specifically for medical braided products such as catheter shafts, sutures, and endoscope components.
The system detects defects and PPI anomalies directly from the live camera stream, providing real-time feedback to operators and maintaining full traceability through event logs and cached evidence.

How It Works
Real-Time Defect Detection
Without disrupting line speed, the system highlights suspected defect regions and provides category-level hints (e.g., surface anomalies or structural discontinuities) as visual overlays.
PPI Anomaly Monitoring
PPI (picks per inch) values are visualized in a clear, continuous format and anomalies are flagged immediately when trends drift outside the target range, enabling proactive process control.
Automatic Model Retraining
The system continuously collects anomalous events, surfaces them for assisted labeling, and retrains the model on-device. No external infrastructure needed — the model improves from real production data.
Evidence Caching & Traceability
All defect images and anomaly sequences are automatically cached and linked to traceable event logs. Full audit history is available for quality review and compliance documentation.
Optional PLC Integration
When a severe defect or anomaly is detected, Braid Guard can automatically send a signal to the machine’s PLC to pause production — preventing waste and protecting product quality without operator intervention.
